What’s coming up

Over the past few months, we’ve interviewed businesses, attended conferences, and worked closely with many innovative organisations. The focus within the Guide has been on new technology, and some of the exciting developments in the UK – from finding out about the Industrial Challenge Fund, to making a film for biotechnology innovators Exonate UK, and exploring the brick walls that many inspired entrepreneurs face as they scale their businesses.

A regional focus

From August onwards, and into the autumn, researchers from the Business Finance Guide, along with our partners at The British Business Bank and ICAEW, will be out and about, looking for inspiration from some of the amazing business stories across the country.

We track an electrician’s business over 20 years, how his relationship with his local accountant has shaped his business growth, and what’s next for this successful entrepreneur.

The role of the Northern Powerhouse:

There are changes happening in the north of England. We look at some of the real-life business stories, and the finance solutions available to businesses in the region.

Local Enterprise:

We look at the role of the Local Enterprise Partnerships, share some real life stories, and explore what the LEPs can offer to businesses around the country.
